Hannah Loves - June
As July approaches, I thought that I would acknowledge some of my favourite things from this month. Here's a range of things that I've been loving from a variety of areas.
No7 Essential Moisture Day Cream
I have recently changed my daily moisturiser to this No7 Day Cream. It's available to buy from a number of places, but it is retailed at Boots for £9.50, which can also get you some points on your Boots card if you have one (which I would recommend having!). My skin doesn't tend to be the same all of the time but can have times where it becomes slightly dry, which I imagine is pretty normal. This moisturiser has a slightly thicker consistency to the Simple one that I used to use and also absorbs very quickly. I mostly use it once my face is washed and clean and before applying makeup, but if my skin is feeling dry of an evening I occasionally put it on again then.
Garnier Summer Body Lotion Light Sun-Kissed
As someone with a rather pale complexion, come British "summertime" this year I wanted to find a product that could just give me a slight glow. I'm someone who has never used fake tan, due to being too scared of going a not so pleasant orange if not applied properly! Instead, I wanted a more subtle product, which this definitely fulfils! Admittedly, I have ended up with orange knees and ankles at times, but in general myself, family and friends have noticed I do have more of a "summer glow! about me. This tinted body lotion, along with the deep sun-kissed for darker complexions, is available from drugstores/pharmacies such as Boots and Superdrug and UK supermarkets. Since first buying the product I have noticed that it has been on offer in various places so you have a choice of many places you can get it.
Icy Sunglasses
Being a wearer of glasses from a young age has made getting sunglasses a bit more difficult than just buying a pair I like. I have just bought my second pair of sunglasses ever and decided to go for these Rayban Clubmaster style glasses and have a brown tint with my prescription put into them. I've seen this style a lot more recently in general and in the media and find the style isn't as harsh as the Wayfarer style on myself.
Love Island
This programme I just cannot get enough of! I admit that reality TV is not so much of a guilty pleasure anymore, I just can't help but love this show. I didn't watch the first season of the show, but I am so glad I gave in and decided to give this a shot. I would describe it as a bit of a spicier version of Big Brother but not quite as trashy as Ex On The Beach! The show is on every weeknight except for Saturday where a recap of the week is shown, on ITV2 at 9pm or 10pm.
Music
My music taste is one is pretty much anything goes, I'm not the kind of person that immediately doesn't like something just because it's classified as popular or chart music. I have a few songs that I've been really loving this month. Firstly, Bastille's latest release "Good Grief" has been a long awaited release from Bastille and I cannot wait for the new album. Secondly, from another Glastonbury act, is "The Less I Know The Better" by "Tame Impala". I don't necessarily know much of their music or about the band but this song has had a lot of listens from my Spotify playlist. Finally, "Too Good" by Drake and Rihanna is my other favourite of June. Drake isn't usually an artist that I would listen to but with the influence of university flatmates, this song was introduced to me!
Joe Wicks' "Lean In 15" Tortilla Pizza
This alternative to a traditional pizza is ideal if you are looking for an easy and healthier option. From Joe Wick's "Lean In 15" book, this tortilla pizza is topped with tomato puree, cheese, onion, spinach, ham and interestingly, an egg. My sister and I personally prefer it with a wholemeal tortilla base and tastes great with red onion also. You may think that having an egg on this pizza may seem a little bit odd but it honestly works! You can buy the book from Amazon here: Lean In 15. Wicks' has since released a second book with another pizza recipe we can't wait to try.
Tea on the Green
Last week, my sister Kayleigh and I visited our local tearoom "Tea on the Green" with Grace whilst she was visiting Devon and my friend Clarice (click the link to visit her blog!). A local treasure in many eyes where you have the choice of an array of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, grills, scones and of course, cake! The lovely cosy, vintage setting just adds to the fabulous food.
On this visit, I had the cheese and bacon grill and Toblerone cheescake. Sadly, the latter defeated me and I coudn't manage it all, despite how delicious it was! Here is the tearoom's website: Tea on the Green.
So, that's what I've been loving in June, I hope that you've enjoyed reading.
Love,
H x
