Our Trip to London - Part One

At the end of May, my sister Kayleigh and I visited London to celebrate her finishing university and me finishing my first year. We spent four nights in Earl's Court whilst visiting the capital.

As it was my first proper time visiting Central London, Kayleigh and I tried to do as much of the touristy things as we could. When planning these posts I noticed that they were probably a little too long to put into one post, so I'm going to split this one to just our first day.

Sunday
We arrived at Victoria Coach station in the early afternoon and dedicated our time to seeing some sights. We saw the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. As well as this, we managed to see Westminster Abbey, Downing Street, Horse Guards Parade and my personal favourite, Buckingham Palace. Here are a couple of my favourite photos we took that afternoon:

That evening we continued our sightseeing and saw Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square. For dinner, we went to the "Golden Phoenix" in China Town. The two of us shared sweet and sour pork, beef in black bean sauce, egg fried rice and prawn crackers. The portions were very generous and tasty, so we would definitely recommend it!

Finally, before heading back to the hotel, we went to Piccadilly Circus and then back to Buckingham Palace, where we took, possibly my favourite photo from the trip:

Monday
On Monday morning, we got up in time for when the Natural History Museum in South Kensington opened. After visiting, I can say that this museum is unmissable, not only for its beautiful architecture but for all of the interesting things inside too.

As we were short of time due to busy plans that day, we had lunch at the museum's restaurant. However, I would personally say if you have the time to, visit a restaurant outside of the museum in South Kensington instead.

After lunch we finished the final parts of the museum and headed to Knightsbridge, to go to Harrods. Now, my sister said to me "you're not ready for it", and she was right"! So many glorious and wonderful things, most of which were out of our price range. Despite this, we did get some presents for family and I got myself on of their own brand phone cases for only £9.95, not too bad for Harrods!

That night, we went to the Ice Bar on Heddon Street (just off of Regent Street), which at the time was Rock themed. Due to it being SO cold in their, you're only allowed in their for a maximum of 40 minutes. For entrance and one alcoholic cocktail, it was £13.50 each (they also do non-alcoholic drinks). A fun experience and even the little capes they give you to wear are adorable!

The pictures above show us sat in the themed throne. For online bookings visit: Ice Bar London. My next post will be the rest of our trip to London!

Love,
