Our Trip to London - Part Two
This post is a follow-up from "Our Trip to London - Part One" which can be found here: Our Trip to London - Part One.
Tuesday
We started off our third day in Camden, with breakfast at the Cereal Killer Cafe, a creative must visit for cereal lovers. Kayleigh and I had one of the "cereal cocktails" each.
Above is what I had, the "chocopottomus", which consists of Coco Pops, Krave and a Happy Hippo with chocolate milk. This "cocktail" is currently priced at £4.00, which in my opinion is a reasonable price for the size and novelty factor. We even sat on beds to eat our breakfast!
To view the full menu and for bookings visit: Cereal Killer Cafe.
After breakfast, Kayleigh's friend Grace joined us to explore Camden's markets. We then headed off to Olympic Park and Westfield in Stratford. When visiting the park, we went up the ArcelorMittal Orbit and saw views of all over London. To go up "The Orbit", it is £10.00 for adults and £7.00 for students. A slide was also in the process of being completed upon our visit!
Wednesday
Our first stop on Wednesday was the "Sky Garden" on Fenchurch Street (closest tube stop, Monument), which was another opportunity to see views of London. Although this required booking the experience was free of charge. If I were to choose between this and the Orbit I would choose the Sky Garden. There is also the opportunity to eat and drink whilst visiting.
We then travelled to Covent Garden, an area I personally think is a beautiful treasure of London, to have lunch with a friend of mine. As we were limited on time we sadly could not spend as long as I would have liked here but we had to dedicate some shopping time to Oxford Street that afternoon!
That evening, we returned to Covent Garden and went to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The theatre was as you would expect, an old, timeless theatre. I have seen musicals before, but seeing one in London itself was definitely a special experience.
Thursday
With just a few hours left in the city before travelling back, we decided to go to the Victoria and Albert museum as it was only two tube stops from our hotel. If you have ever been before you will know that you need at least a day to see everything! Instead, we just visited the fashion, theatre and jewellery sections of the museum.
After a quick lunch at Zizzi's we quickly collected our cases and got to the coach station for a long, traffic induced journey. As a girl from a small town I doubted whether I would enjoy London or not, but I know now that I hope it will be a regular place to visit for me!
Love,
H x
